The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), officially titled the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship for sponsorship purposes, is set to make history as the 8th edition of the biennial tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This tournament, scheduled to run from 1 to 28 February 2025, is unique as it features players exclusively from their respective domestic leagues and will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—the first time in CHAN history that three nations will share hosting duties.
Host Selection
The decision to co-host the tournament was announced on 17 December 2023, marking a significant moment in African football history. Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda were chosen as hosts, with the event serving as a dress rehearsal for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which is also slated to be hosted by the three nations.
