ADI Foundation Partners with H2O Hospitality on Blockchain Travel

The ADI Foundation has teamed up with H2O Hospitality to bring blockchain into everyday travel. Specifically, this ADI Foundation H2O Hospitality partnership will let guests in the UAE use digital wallets and pay with a new Dirham-backed stablecoin—without needing any prior knowledge of blockchain.

To make this possible, ADI will build the underlying technology. Meanwhile, H2O will deploy it through its guest platforms across the UAE and beyond. As a result, travelers can open a wallet at check-in and spend digital Dirhams throughout their stay.

Moreover, the system connects the entire customer journey—from arrival to on-site purchases—directly on ADI Chain. Consequently, users enjoy a smooth, secure experience. Additionally, it enables personalized offers and loyalty rewards.

Ajay Bhatia of the ADI Foundation emphasized real-world impact. “We’re making blockchain practical,” he said. “This helps millions join the UAE’s digital economy.” In other words, the goal is inclusion—not complexity.

Similarly, John Lee, CEO of H2O, called the project a milestone. “Tourists will use digital currency easily,” he explained. “They won’t need to know how blockchain works.” This user-first approach aligns with ADI’s broader mission.

Notably, the deal was signed during Abu Dhabi Finance Week. During the same event, ADI also announced collaborations with BlackRock, Mastercard, and Franklin Templeton—further signaling institutional trust in its infrastructure.

Furthermore, this initiative supports the UAE-regulated Dirham stablecoin. ADI is developing it alongside IHC, Sirius International, and First Abu Dhabi Bank. Importantly, the stablecoin will operate fully within the country’s legal and financial framework.

H2O manages over 21,000 rooms across South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Therefore, it offers a powerful channel to onboard mainstream users onto sovereign-grade blockchain infrastructure.

Beyond hospitality, ADI is already active across emerging markets. For example, in Kenya, it’s enabling portable health records. In Africa, it’s working with mobile money leaders to explore on-chain payments for millions. These efforts reflect its core goal: to bring 1 billion people on-chain by 2030—especially in regions often left behind in digital transformation.

In short, the ADI Foundation H2O Hospitality partnership blends fintech and tourism in a seamless way. By focusing on simplicity, compliance, and real utility, it demonstrates how blockchain can serve people in everyday life—without them even noticing the technology underneath.
